What they do:

Clearly Rated is a B2B technology and service provider that provides customer feedback and leverages the Net Promotor system. They have been a foundational partner to the staffing industry since 2003 and are the creator of the coveted Best of Staffing award.

What was the situation on why they approached 4Ps:

The Founders needed a plan and wanted to accelerate their growth, expand into new markets and reduce their personal wealth risk through a future transaction.

How we engaged with them

Four Piers provided growth capital through both equity and debt in 2018, and became strategic growth advisors to the business.

The Outcome

Clearly Rated sold a majority equity position to private equity in June 2023.

Our Approach

Step 1

Assisted management in developing a budgeting strategy and a strategic growth plan including a future organization structure, a robust sales org and sales process, and expansion into another industry.

Step 2

Opened client doors, promoted the company through various speaking engagements and events, and routinely met with management to solve problems, help with decision-making and provide emotional support.

Step 3

Heavily involved with exit strategy, planning and timing. Evaluated Investment Bankers, Legal and Accounting partners and advised the Founders start to finish through a formal auction process.

The Results

Management reduced their stress and stayed focused

The company grew substantially and into the Accounting Industry

Software Growth Partners acquired the company at a 3X return

What they do:

Krewe is a national locum tenens business that specializes in staffing certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA).  Krewe is owned and operated by three CRNA’s who are able to consult healthcare facilities to improve overall efficiency in anesthesia coverage.

What was the situation on why they approached 4Ps:

The founders are CRNAs who know medicine and successfully launched an early-stage staffing business. They realized they needed help to scale it to the next level.

How we engaged with them

A consulting agreement was designed to allow for an equity investment after six months, which was exercised. The founders took some chips off the table and invested the rest as growth capital into the business.  

The Outcome

Ongoing (investment was made in Feb of 2024)

Our Approach

Step 1

Hired six industry veterans to the leadership team. Assisted in a company rebrand. Developed a budget process and strategic plan. Designed job descriptions and process for internal talent acquisition.

Step 2

Actively engaged in business development by re-negotiating with, and growing, a major existing client. Helped win two major clients who are some of the largest buyers of locum tenens in the industry.

Step 3

Executing on a business review and leadership development routine involving monthly board calls and in-person engagement. Conduct regular coaching calls with the CEO.

The Results

Business growth is accelerating toward the desired future state of the founders.

WorkN is the most advanced and widely adopted mobile talent platform for staffing. Since 2015, WorkN has helped staffing clients modernize the employment experience by delivering mobile staffing solutions that offer a seamless, end-to-end candidate experience.

What was the situation on why they approached 4Ps:

WorkN had developed a strong core technology. They were seeking penetration with clients in the Staffing Industry, they needed to add to their executive leadership team and the needed a more robust sales organization and process.

How we engaged with them

Four Piers provided growth capital, became advisors to the company and CEO, recruited and hired a company President, and promoted WorkN to the Four Piers’ personal networks.

The Outcome

WorkN became the #1 mobile talent platform in the industry and completed a sale to Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) provider, Avionte, in 2022.

Our Approach

Assisted management in raising additional capital, and in developing a strategic growth plan, sales organization and sales process.

Step 2

Opened client doors, promoted the company through various speaking engagements and events. Routinely met with management to solve problems, help with decision-making and provided product development input.

Step 3

Heavily involved with exit strategy, planning, timing and target acquirer strategy. Assisted in deal structure negotiation and continued to assist the company growth through the earnout period. Earnout was achieved 100%.

The Results

Management stayed updated on industry trends and buying behavior contributing to product development

Industry penetration and revenue were accelerated substantially

Avionte acquisition achieved a 3X+ return for Four Piers and a substantial wealth event for the CEO and Management
